Boston Scott, a running back who stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and played college football at Louisiana Tech University in Conference USA, was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round, 201st overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft.[1][2]
During six seasons with the Eagles from 2018 to 2023, Scott appeared in 75 games with 12 starts. He rushed for 1,298 yards and five touchdowns, and also contributed as a kickoff and punt returner.[2][3] Scott gained the nickname "Giants Killer" for his performances against NFC East rival New York Giants, including 131 rushing yards and a touchdown on 34 carries in Philadelphia's 31-15 wild-card playoff victory on January 16, 2021.[3][4]
In Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023, Scott had three carries for seven yards as the Eagles lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.[2][5] His final regular-season NFL game came on January 7, 2024, when the Eagles defeated the Giants 27-10 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.[3]
Scott signed with the Los Angeles Rams on August 6, 2024, and later joined the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad on October 16, 2024, but did not appear in any regular-season games for either team.[1][6]
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the 29-year-old Scott announced his retirement via a statement on social media. "There is so much I’m proud of," Scott wrote. He expressed mixed feelings, including anger and bitterness alongside joy, and credited coaches, teammates and his faith for his journey from a college walk-on to the NFL.[7]
Post-retirement, Scott has signed with esports organization Dignitas as a content creator.[8]
