Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft out of Oklahoma State, is averaging 24.9 points, 9.1 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game through 28 appearances in the 2024-25 season.[1][2]

The 23-year-old earned his first NBA All-Star selection in the 2023-24 season after posting 22.7 points, 7.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game in 62 outings.[1][3]

Cunningham's career averages stand at 21.4 points, 7.4 assists and 4.8 rebounds over 210 regular-season games.[1]

The Pistons sit at 13-15 (.464 winning percentage), tenth in the Eastern Conference standings as of December 26, 2024, four games behind the sixth-place spot.[4][5]

This marks an improvement from the 2023-24 season, when Detroit finished 14-68 and set the NBA record with a 28-game losing streak under coach Monty Williams, who had signed a reported six-year, $78 million contract -- then the league's richest for a coach.[6][7][8]

Williams was fired after one season, with J.B. Bickerstaff taking over as head coach ahead of 2024-25.[9]

The Pistons play their home games at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.[10]

The 2024-25 NBA playoffs are scheduled to begin on April 19, 2025.[11]
